Styled Shoot: Gypsy Picnic in the Texas Hill Country
Emily Forsythe
In the midst of a busy spring wedding and social season, we somehow managed to squeeze in a styled shoot just before the summer heat hit! We teamed up with our friends over at Birch & Brass Rentals using some of their newest finds and styled up a gypsy picnic that is worth taking a road trip to Spicewood for!
The icing on the cake was we enlisted our friend, Rachel Holtin from Austin Foodstagram to help style out all of the delicious bites. The chefs at Flower Child must've been hearing our hunger pangs because they chose all of our favorite items off the menu to showcase: the Flying Avocado Wrap, Chopped Vegetable Salad, Red Chili Glazed Sweet Potatoes and the Simple Hummus. All dishes that are light, fresh and perfect for al fresco dining!
The spacious Hill Country set the scene for what would be a decadent spread provided by the folks at Flower Child. Their location at the Domain is one of our new favorite spots not only for the delicious made-to-order food, but because they responsibly and locally source only the freshest produce from local and organic farms. We are pumped because later this year they are set to open their second location downtown, which will be much closer to us 78704 dwellers!
The best part of the shoot was getting to pet and play with the herd of Pygmy goats the owner of the ranch had! We quickly made friends with these little guys and even fed them some of the scraps we had leftover from the shoot. They were too cute not to share with you!
